The Prospect Tenant Portal gives people who are actively looking to rent a dedicated, self-service experience inside myProp. Rather than chasing an agent for updates on available properties or waiting for a callback to book a viewing, prospective tenants can now manage their entire rental search journey through a single authenticated portal.
Looking-to-Rent Dashboard
When a prospect tenant logs in, they land on a purpose-built Looking-to-Rent Dashboard. This acts as the central hub for their rental search, bringing together preferences, matched properties, alerts, viewings, and application status in one view.
Preference Management
Prospect tenants can define and update their rental requirements at any time. Preferences typically include:
- Target location(s)
- Maximum and minimum budget
- Number of bedrooms
- Property type (e.g. flat, house, studio)
- Additional requirements
Saved preferences are used to power the matching carousel and property alerts, so keeping them up to date ensures the most relevant results.
Property Alerts
Once preferences are saved, tenants can opt in to Property Alerts. When the agency adds a new listing that matches their criteria, the tenant is notified — reducing the need for them to manually check the portal and ensuring they can act quickly on new listings.
Property Search
The portal includes a Property Search interface that allows prospect tenants to query the agency's live available listings directly. Search results can be filtered by the same criteria used in preference management, giving tenants full control over how they browse.
Matching Properties Carousel
The dashboard features a Matching Properties Carousel — a curated, automatically updated set of listings that align with the tenant's saved preferences. This gives immediate visibility of the most relevant properties without requiring a manual search every visit.
Upcoming Viewings
Any scheduled viewings arranged between the tenant and the agency appear in the Upcoming Viewings section of the dashboard. Both confirmed and pending appointments are shown, so tenants always know what's in their calendar.
Application Submission
When a prospect tenant is ready to move forward on a property, they can submit a tenancy application directly through the portal. This removes friction from the application process and gives the agency a structured submission to act on — without back-and-forth over email or phone.
Who Can Access This Portal?
The Prospect Tenant Portal is available to users with the Prospect Tenant client type on an agency's myProp instance. Access is authenticated and scoped to that tenant's individual rental search, ensuring data privacy between applicants.
